Photo Booth Event RentalsA photo booth can generate solid revenue for its owner by being rented out for many kinds of events. Weddings are arguably the most popular occasions, as seemingly every bride who has ever seen a photo booth at a reception wants there to be one at hers. Trade shows, parties of many types, bar and bat mitzfahs, and just about any social gathering with people who need something fun to do is an opportunity for you to rent out your photo booth.
Rental prices range from $800 - $2000 for a four-hour block of use. Your region and the market you target affect the going rate, as smaller towns might command $800-$1000 per rental, while higher-end markets and exclusive wedding retreats can charge $1500-$2000 for unlimited use. Competition will play a factor in your rates too; if there are photo booth rentals readily available you may charge less to attract customers, while if there are not many booths in your area then you can let demand set your price at a higher rate.
What about unlimited use? Is there a worry that with unlimited use people will use more paper and ink than you charge them for the rental? Nope, not a concern, and here's why. In four hours, a person sitting in the booth continually printing photo strips could go through quite a few vends. But photo booths are social experiences and everyone wants in on the fun. With a constant line of people waiting to be next in the booth, the maximum you can expect is 50 uses per hour. It takes time to get in and out of the booth, read the on-screen instructions, and at least a minute goes by as friends goof around. 200 uses in four hours totals less than $150 in paper and ink - there's plenty of room for your profit margin.
Models made specifically for events include the Royale, Sapphire, and Photo 2 Go. They cover a smaller "footprint" on the ground, weigh less than larger photo booths, and even have wheels for easy transportation. Plus changing from "free prints" to "charge per use" is a few simple buttons, so you can go from a wedding reception rented by the hour to a storefront charging each customer quickly and easily.
